  • Drink Sooner. Traditional double-wall vacuum-insulated mugs keep your coffee hot—too hot. Instead of enjoying your coffee right away, you're stuck waiting for it to cool. Why wait? Developed by a team of aerospace thermal engineers, BURNOUT is designed to solve that problem. It cools your coffee to a comfortable drinking temperature in just minutes and keeps it there, so you can enjoy every sip sooner.
  • New Locking Lid. BURNOUT's redesigned pop-top lid provides improved insulation to keep your coffee at the ideal temperature even longer. A spring-loaded locking button enables easy one-handed opening while you're on the go and securely locks closed to help prevent spills during travel. The lid also disassembles completely, making it quick and easy to clean.
  • 5-Year Warranty. Built to last, every BURNOUT mug is proudly Made in the USA with U.S. and imported parts. Each mug is uniquely serialized and backed by our 5-year warranty, giving you confidence in every cup. Crafted from premium 18/8 stainless steel, BURNOUT is durable, dishwasher safe, and designed for years of everyday use. Love your coffee. Enjoy it sooner. Get the BURNOUT.
  • No More "Lip" Dancing. Stop taking tiny, cautious sips to avoid burning your mouth. Powered by our proprietary Heatzorb® technology—a specialized beeswax-like phase-change material—BURNOUT quickly brings your coffee to your preferred drinking temperature and keeps it there. The result is a smoother, more enjoyable coffee experience without the scalding first sip that often accompanies traditional insulated mugs.
  • No Batteries Required. BURNOUT's innovative Drink Now® Technology works without batteries or electronics. It quickly absorbs excess heat from freshly brewed coffee, bringing it to a comfortable drinking temperature in minutes. The stored thermal energy then gradually releases to help maintain that ideal temperature for hours, allowing you to enjoy your coffee sooner and keep it at the perfect temperature without reheating.

As advertised!

My wife got me a "Burnout Tumbler – Pop Top Lid" for my birthday 10 weeks ago. I have used my tumbler literally every day since and I am thrilled with this product. It works exactly as advertised. I takes me about an hour to drink my morning coffee and before Burnout I would reheat it in the microwave probably 3 or 4 times a morning. I've probably saved enough in my electric bill to pay for the tumbler (well, maybe not yet). I also appreciate the fact that it is made in the USA. (Full disclosure: I went to Mizzou and my diploma says Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (except for that, no relation to Burnout)). Keep up the good work.

Not build for wear and tear

I usually use the Contigo mugs, but they keep the drinks too hot. This product does a great job getting coffee to a drinkable temperature FAST.

The durability of the cap leaves much to be desired. I've had two Burnouts, and both have cracked. I place coffee mugs and water bottles in the drink sleeve of my backpack. This mug is thinner than most coffee mugs, and it often falls out as I lift my backpack from the ground. My old Contigo mugs could withstand falling from a few feet. This one can't.

If you're hard on your water bottles or mugs (like I am), don't buy this. All the engineering went into temperature regulation, and not enough was devoted to the durability of the cap.

Lid Leaks

My family gave me a 12oz tumbler with the pop-top lid as a gift. I loved that it's made in the US (although I hope the imported parts are not from China) and that it's manufactured in Columbia, MO (Mizzou alum). However, the lid design needs improvement. When I've taken a sip, the "stopper" leaves a drip of coffee on my nose, which is rather annoying. Also, the locking mechanism slides easily, which causes the lid to pop open and leak, creating a mess in my handbag.

I am disappointed that the company has not responded to the reviewer's comments. This is a premium product made by "rocket scientists." I would expect a redesign of the lid by now. Thumbs down.

Tried and True

I've had one for about a year. I spent months searching for a made in America travel mug and this is as close as it comes. Every company has to source some things from overseas, and Burnout is making the effort to get as much done in America as possible. I wanted to do a trial run and now I'm back to buy more. I have washed it multiple times in the dishwasher and it held up better than some of the other mugs I've had to the point where I'm handwashing it now so that I can use it everyday. I have the flip top lid. Someone said the lid pops open, but the button has a tab that you slide up to lock it so no problems there. Someone also said that the lid hits their nose. This occasionally happens to me, but the lid can be opened one notch wider and that seems to do the trick. I pour warm water in mine in the morning and let it set while I have my breakfast, then I empty it out and pour in my hot tea. It is too hot for about an hour, but then I get a good 5+ hours of perfect temperature.

Lid and customer service

I don’t care for the lid. It opens to easily and has spilled twice. I am moving around a lot and want to trust it doesn’t spill. Also the lid puts liquid dots on your forehead when drinking or you kind of get it at an angle. Acceptable for cheap mug but not one for $80. I have emailed two times as I would like to try the slide lid with absolutely no response. I guess rocket engineers don’t care much for customer service. Was about to buy two, glad I did not. Also just a personal preference, I don’t like how much it cools the hot liquid. I pre-soak it in boiling water first to reduce the excess temp change. Some like it, not me. Thanks for no response!

Can't live without it

It is better than advertised. I pour a cup that I intend to sip on from about 8:00 until just before lunch. When I travel I want it to last at least 4 hours. I preheat the 12 oz mug with hot water (not boiling) and about three minutes later I empty it a fill with fresh coffee.
I have on occasion gone back to it with a little left at 4:00 in the afternoon and it was still the same drinking temp as the first sip. I have had Yetis, Stanley, Starbucks -- and a number of others. They are just no match for the drinkability of this cup and their leak proof cups/mugs are not as good as this one.
This is pricey for coffee cups/mugs but if you drink MANY HOT drinks at all you will find that in the long run it is a bargain. I have had mine 8 months and pity the foolish person who tries to take it away from me.

Thank you!

I'm happy to see you're now selling this travel mug with the pop-top lid. I bought the original mug with the "Easy-Drink" slide closure and really disliked it. (So did a lot of other people, if one can believe the Amazon reviews.) I bought a separate pop-top lid, and it is MUCH better. So what are you waiting for? Pick a size (12 or 16 oz; I'd go big.) and buy one. You won't be sorry.

It works amazingly well

Since 60 years I pour cold water in my tea and coffee to
be able to drink it right away. Initially I was skeptical that the Burnout Tumbler would work as advertised.
And it works amazingly well! My coffee and tea goes into the tumbler boiling hot and is within minutes at the perfect drinking temperature and stays there for hours.
I’m very excited, truly a great product.

American excellence!

I searched for 6 months on and off looking for an American made insulated mug. For months all I saw were the same thing and all made in China. I can’t stand that crap. Finally, right as I was about to give up I found Burnout. It is exactly the product that is advertised and works just as well and beyond what I could’ve hoped.
I am a diehard American made fan and gladly spent the extra money for an amazing USA made product that I use every day and I’m proud to share with my friends.
